Push-Up Challenge for Samaritans

The McMillan team take on the 'Push-Up Challenge' raising money for the Samaritans.
Push-Up Challenge

The team at McMillan Financial has successfully taken on a demanding fitness challenge in support of mental health awareness, raising hundreds of pounds for charity in the process.

Throughout February, the McMillan team participated in the 'Push-Up Challenge,' committing to complete 2,000 push-ups each. The effort was in aid of Samaritans, a leading organisation dedicated to preventing suicide and supporting those in emotional distress.

Pushing through sore muscles, the team averaged around 100 push-ups per day, ultimately reaching a combined total of 12,000 push-ups. Alongside the challenge, the team has raised £627 so far, towards their £1,000 target - there is still time to donate! Donations will directly support Samaritans’ vital services, including their 24/7 helpline and online chat platform. For example, a donation of £44 can help fund the charity’s online chat service, enabling more people to access life-saving support when they need it most.

“We’re doing this to raise important funds to help those struggling with their mental health, while also challenging ourselves and boosting our own!”

Highlighting both the personal and charitable motivations behind the initiative.

Samaritans works around the clock, 365 days a year, ensuring that anyone experiencing crisis or suicidal thoughts has someone to listen. Through trained volunteers, the charity provides a safe space for people to talk, helping to reduce isolation and offer hope during difficult times.

By taking part in the Push-Up Challenge, McMillan Financial has not only raised valuable funds but also played an important role in promoting conversations around mental health. Our efforts highlight how coming together for a shared cause can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
